Homemade Chocolate Recipe how to make chocolate at home
Ingredients
- 1 cup cocoa butter
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or you can use a different extract that you prefer.
- Peppermint extract (optional)
- Chopped and roasted almonds (optional)
Instructions
-
1
Melting via Bain-Marie: Fill a saucepan with some water. Place a glass bowl on top and add the cocoa butter. Melt over medium heat. ⚠️ Important Note: Absolutely ensure the water in the saucepan does not get into the glass bowl on top.
-
2
Adding the Dry Ingredients: Once the cocoa butter is completely melted, remove the bowl from the heat. Add the cocoa powder, vanilla, and any other extracts you will be using and mix.
-
3
Cooling: Let the mixture cool naturally.
-
4
Sweetening: Once the mixture has cooled and begun to solidify (until it reaches a honey-like consistency), add the honey and mix all the ingredients thoroughly until a smooth consistency is achieved. (If using solid honey, you can melt it together with the cocoa butter in step 1).
-
5
Transferring to the Mold: Pour the smooth mixture into a glass bowl or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
6
Decoration: Sprinkle with almonds, hazelnuts, pomegranate seeds, or any other toppings according to your taste.
-
7
Setting Rest: Let the chocolate harden at room temperature for a few hours.
